Hackmanite is a rare, Sulfur-rich variety of sodalite known for ‘tenebrescence’ - the ability to reversibly change colour when exposed to UV light. Its colour shifts between dark purple/violet when exposed to UV light, then fades back to light purple grey in the dark. While the UV light is on the mineral it shines a bright orange. Making it a highly prized collection item.
